BCC: Inflation Eases But Budget Must Deliver

Nov 21 2025

Reacting to the latest ONS inflation data published this morning, Stuart Morrison, Research Manager at the British Chambers of Commerce said:

“Businesses will be hoping October’s inflation rate of 3.6% is further evidence that inflation may now be past its peak. That’s in line with forecasts by the Bank of England and the BCC.

“However, the economy remains vulnerable, and firms are under no illusion about the huge cost pressures they continue to face. Our latest survey data shows inflation is the second biggest concern for businesses after tax. The two are intrinsically linked with many firms telling us the employer NICs hike has forced them to put up prices.

“Business can’t be in the firing line again at next week’s Budget. The national insurance hike, announced in last year’s statement, has fuelled inflation, hit investment and damaged job opportunities. Those are not the ingredients for the sustained growth we all want to see.

“The Chancellor must use her statement next Wednesday to ease the cost burden for business, not add to it. In short, no more tax on business.

“Recent speculation about a new cap on pension salary sacrifice schemes is worrying, as it would add more costs for employers and could limit investment. The Budget must also help tackle the skills crisis, help exporters and turbocharge infrastructure projects.

“The economy will continue to stutter unless business costs come down, and firms are given the right tools to invest, recruit and trade.”

NetIX Hits New Peak Traffic Milestone of 5 Tbps

Nov 19 2025

NetIX, the multi-award-winning global Internet Exchange and interconnection platform, is proud to announce a major new traffic milestone: the NetIX platform has reached a new peak of 5 terabits per second (Tbps). This achievement marks another significant step in NetIX’s rapid acceleration and continued growth in the global peering marketplace.

Reaching 5 Tbps not only reflects the scale and reliability of the NetIX infrastructure, but also underscores the ongoing trust placed in NetIX by ISPs, carriers, hyperscalers, content delivery networks, and enterprises worldwide. This latest milestone firmly establishes NetIX as one of the top 10 largest Internet Exchanges globally based on peak traffic, as well as the fastest-growing IXP in the world.

2025 has been an exceptional year for NetIX, with the company earning two of the most respected and coveted awards in the telecoms industry:

  • Carrier Community’s “Best Global Internet Exchange Provider”
  • Capacity Media’s Global Connectivity Award for “Best Internet Exchange Provider”

These recognitions highlight NetIX’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and its unwavering dedication to delivering a high-performance peering environment for its 220+ members.

“Reaching 5 Tbps is a tremendous achievement and a reflection of the robust, resilient, and high-quality platform we’ve built,” said Dean Belev, VP of Connectivity at NetIX. “As the fastest-growing IXP worldwide, this milestone shows the increasing demand for NetIX’s service model, our expanding ecosystem, and the confidence our members place in us every day.”

NetIX continues to strengthen its global footprint, expand into new markets, and enhance its suite of interconnection solutions, from its award-winning Global Internet Exchange and its global Ethernet network consisting of more than 200 on-net data centres, to its IX-as-a-Service solution, which upgrades – or even powers brand new – Internet Exchange deployments across the world.

“As we celebrate this new peak traffic record and our two major industry awards, our focus remains clear,” added Belev. “We will continue to deliver reliable, intelligent, and ultra-efficient interconnection services that help networks grow, optimise performance, and unlock new digital opportunities.”

With traffic surges and its growth accelerating, NetIX has climbed from 4 Tbps to 5 Tbps in just 11 months – a remarkable 25% increase – which reflects the strength of its platform and the trust of the community. NetIX is looking forward to building on this momentum to reach new traffic records in the near future, gaining new members, and continuing to expand the possibilities of global interconnection.

If you want to enjoy the benefits of being connected to NetIX and exchange traffic with 200+ members and 50+ IXPs without the need for 50+ cross connects, ports, or memberships – get in touch with the NetIX team today: contact@netix.net

Follow Up: Invest in Bulgaria Forum

Nov 14 2025

Тhe BBCC was honoured to host the Invest in Bulgaria Forum, on 12 November. The forum was in partnership with the Bulgarian Embassy in London and H.E. Tihomir Stoytchev, and the British Embassy in Sofia represented by Tim Buisseret, DBT Regional Director, Europe Central & Country Director Bulgaria.

The event opened with a keynote presentation by Mila Nenova, Director of the Invest Bulgaria Agency, on “Bulgaria: The Hidden Diamond of Eastern Europe”. The forum focused on discussions on Bulgaria’s dynamic economic environment, presenting opportunities for cooperation in key sectors such as green energy, microelectronics, technology and infrastructure, as well as deepening UK-Bulgarian business relations.

“This forum highlights Bulgaria’s openness to international partnerships and the country’s focus on long-term and inclusive growth,” said Bulgarian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Tihomir Stoychev.

“Bulgaria’s accession to the Eurozone on 1 January 2026 strengthens investor confidence and makes this forum extremely timely. Bulgaria offers significant opportunities in infrastructure, technology, energy and high-tech manufacturing – sectors that will shape the future of Europe. The forum is dedicated not only to investment, but also to building partnerships that will stimulate innovation, green growth and shared prosperity between our two markets,” added Tim Buissere, Commercial Attaché at the British Embassy in Sofia.

The forum provided a platform for business leaders, investors, diplomats and representatives of government institutions to discuss Bulgaria’s role as a strategic gateway between the European Union and Southeastern Europe, along with its stable economic prospects and growing ecosystem for innovation and investment.

The first panel was on the topic of “The Evolution of Manufacturing in Bulgaria”, chosen given that the sector is among the fastest growing in the country. The remaining two panels were dedicated to the energy transition and innovation for a low-carbon economy, as well as the innovation and talent ecosystem. During the event, stories were also shared by leading private investors in Bulgaria, illustrating the opportunities and challenges facing business in the country. In the context of the discussions, it was announced that British investments in Bulgaria in sectors such as information technology, education and trade amount to 2.67 billion euros.

“Bulgaria is a stable and predictable partner with competitive advantages, a strategic location and talented people. Our goal is to build long-term partnerships with companies that see the potential of our country as a strategic hub for business development in Europe,” said Mila Nenova, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency.

“Bulgaria is establishing itself as a hub of innovation, sustainability and opportunity. On the eve of the country’s entry into the Eurozone, I believe that this forum will strengthen British investor interest in Bulgaria, and in particular in sectors such as energy, technology and microelectronics,” said Miroslava Kostadinova, Chair of the Bulgarian Business Council.

The event, which aims to deepen trade and investment relations, promotes business opportunities, stimulates innovation and connects investors with government and industry leaders. It also highlights Bulgaria’s position as one of the most promising investment destinations in Europe, offering competitive advantages in the technology, manufacturing, renewable energy and digital transformation sectors.
The Invest in Bulgaria 2025 Forum is held with the support of Kamburov & Partners, CMS and MPW, whose partnership reflects the private sector’s confidence in Bulgaria’s growing international importance. With the partnership between the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in London, the British Embassy in Sofia and the BBTC, the forum serves as a vital platform for strategic dialogue and investment cooperation between the UK and Bulgaria.
