Praktiker Vitosha’s new modern building is located next to the well-established shopping area – right next to Sofia Ring Mall and Ikea.
On October 1, 2026, Sofia, leading home and garden retailer Praktiker officially expanded its presence in the capital with the opening of its fourth hypermarket in Sofia and 18th store nationwide. Strategically located at 200 Okolovrasten Pat Blvd., Praktiker Vitosha also marks the first major milestone in the development of the modern HOLIDAY PARK Vitosha retail complex. The opening was officially marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Atanas Pekanov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, and Todor Belchev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Videolux Holding.
“I would like to extend my sincere gratitude and congratulations on behalf of Prime Minister Rumen Radev and the entire government on the opening of this truly impressive new retail destination. It is impressive both in its vision and modern design, as well as in the opportunities it will provide citizens to shop for what matters most – products for their homes. The development of projects like this one is something our government also supports – building and creating new things that stand the test of time,” commented Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Pekanov.
“With the opening of Praktiker Vitosha, we are launching another large-scale project through which we are investing in the development of a modern retail environment in the capital. I would like to thank all the institutions, construction teams, partners and colleagues who helped make this project happen every step of the way. It is important to us that customers receive not only a wide selection of products, but a complete experience – from inspiration to bringing their home and garden ideas to life. Praktiker Vitosha is exactly that kind of destination, and we believe it will become a preferred shopping destination for consumers,” said Todor Belchev during the opening ceremony.
The investor behind the project is Videolux Holding, while construction was carried out by MSK AD. The store spans an impressive retail area of more than 8,000 sq. m. and is designed to provide customers with a comprehensive and convenient shopping experience. Visitors can choose from more than 50,000 products for construction, renovation, home furnishing and gardening. For added convenience, the store offers a full range of specialized services, including 3D kitchen and bathroom design, paint tinting, delivery of purchased goods, consumer financing, extended warranties and more. A team of more than 130 qualified sales consultants is on hand to ensure fast and efficient service, while modern self-checkout counters provide additional convenience for customers with busy schedules. Access to the store is made easy through free parking for more than 300 vehicles and charging stations for electric cars. To celebrate the grand opening, Praktiker Vitosha is welcoming customers with hundreds of attractive special offers, free delivery within Sofia, and interest-free installment payments on all purchases over €180 for the first 11 days.
Market leader Praktiker continues to invest consistently in sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. The new hypermarket is equipped with high-tech VRF climate-control and air-purification systems, as well as electronic price tags that help reduce paper waste and the store’s carbon footprint. As a next step, photovoltaic panels are planned for installation to cover a significant portion of the store’s energy needs. This further advances Praktiker’s long-term commitment to supporting more sustainable development. To date, more than 17,000 solar panels have been installed across the chain’s 17 stores nationwide.
The opening of Praktiker Vitosha is only the beginning of the large-scale, modern HOLIDAY PARK Vitosha retail complex, which is scheduled for full completion by the end of 2027. The new retail park will offer a diverse mix of stores and dining venues, including a new location for the market leader Technopolis, and is expected to create more than 500 new jobs. The location of HOLIDAY PARK Vitosha has been designed to provide a spacious environment and impressive views of the mountain, with extensive landscaping incorporated into the plans. The retail complex will also feature dedicated office space to accommodate the growing team of Videolux Holding, whose portfolio includes HOLIDAY PARK, Technopolis, Praktiker and the hotel Crowne Plaza Sofia.
