On 10th of October we had the pleasure to hold a business forum in the Municipal conference hall “P.R.Slaveykov” in Stara Zagora. In partnership with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the kind support of Vivacom and the patronage from the Stara Zagora Municipality we presented the opportunities for business development on these markets to the local business representatives.
After the welcoming remarks from our Regional Ambassador for Stara Zagora, Deyan Blagoev and Hristina Trifonova from Vivacom, Rositsa Raykova – Head of Investment Department at Invest Stara Zagora, showcased how the municipality is taking steps towards diversifying the local economy and retaining young talent. Following more than a year-long-research, the municipality identified three main sectors for development which can attract people to not only stay in Stara Zagora but to choose to relocate there from other regions. Rositsa highlighted that innovation, entrepreneurship and digitalization will be the main focus of the municipality as high potential areas of development.
In the first panel discussion representatives from the three bilateral chambers and the embassies showcased the business relations between Bulgaria and the respected markets providing some statistics for the last years and showing the trend of growth.
In a second panel representatives from diverse businesses were able to share more about their journey operating operating on multiple markets and details about choosing to invest in Stara Zagora, the region and Bulgaria in general. Last but not least, Bob Spence (Business Development Specialist) gave some useful tips on how to approach clients/partners and what to take into account when entering a foreign market.
Guests were able to enjoy an hour of networking in the lunch break.
