The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Bulgaria (The Award) is delighted to announce the sixth edition of the Great British Charity Quiz, which returns once again with a festive twist.
The Award, in partnership with the British Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce (BBCC) and the British Embassy in Sofia, invites guests to join an evening of friendly competition, festive cheer, and a shared commitment to a worthy cause.
With Thanksgiving falling on the same day, attendees will also be thinking of their American friends and their tradition of giving thanks—a fitting reminder of the importance of generosity, community, and supporting others.
The Award is delighted to welcome back its quizmasters, Tony McMurry, Chair of the Board of Trustees of The Award in Bulgaria, and H.E. Mr Nathaniel Copsey, His Majesty’s Ambassador to Bulgaria, who will guide guests through another entertaining evening of challenging questions, good company, and charitable giving.
This year’s edition is particularly special as it celebrates 70 years of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, founded in the United Kingdom in 1956. What began as an initiative to help young people discover their potential, develop new skills, and make a difference has grown into a global movement that empowers millions of young people worldwide. As this milestone is marked, The Award remains committed to carrying this legacy forward in Bulgaria, creating opportunities for young people to grow, challenge themselves, and realise their full potential.

As 70 years of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award are celebrated, The Award champions the power of real experiences to build earned self-belief and lifelong human skills—empowering young people to discover their potential and shape their futures, regardless of their background or circumstances.
This year, the Great British Charity Quiz supports an inspiring cause: providing scholarships for young people to take part in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award in Bulgaria.
Funds raised will help The Award reach and support young people from remote and under-resourced areas, giving them access to the same life-changing opportunities that have empowered generations of young people around the world for seven decades.
By joining the Quiz, guests celebrate this remarkable legacy and help carry it forward by opening doors for more young people across Bulgaria to grow in confidence, challenge themselves, and build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.

As part of an ongoing tradition, BBCC members will enjoy a 10% discount on individual and team registrations using promo code Award10.
A welcome drink and refreshments are included in the participation fee.
Alongside the quiz, guests will enjoy a charity raffle and silent auction featuring exciting prizes generously donated by The Award in Bulgaria’s partners and supporters.
Advance registration is required, as space is limited to 80 participants.

Due to security measures at the British Ambassador’s Residence, any changes to registered teams must be submitted no later than 11:00 AM on Monday, 23 November 2026. For team changes or any questions regarding registration, please contact events@intaward-bg.org.
Guests are invited to arrive from 6:00 PM for pre-quiz networking and a festive welcome drink.
