Dear BBBA Members and Partners,

We would like to kindly invite you to an evening reception to discuss the role of airports for regional economic development.

Time&Date: 6 PM – 8 PM, May 17th, 2018

Address: The Residence Executive Club, 18 Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd., Sofia

Our guests from Manchester Airports Group (MAG) will make a brief introduction of the airport business between the UK and Bulgaria, and how it can stimulate the development of regional business and entrepreneurs.

We will focus on:

  • How airports can deliver value back into the regions that they serve, and what that means for local communities and businesses;
  • How the airport can work in collaboration with inward investment agencies, tourism bodies and multinational businesses to create a regional narrative;
  • Immediate value and wider economic benefits derived from new international routes to and from the region.

The event will continue with networking in the lovely garden of The Residence Executive Club.

*** This event is free of charge, but seats are limited and available at first come first serve basis. Please register no later than May 11, 2018.

About MAG:

MAG (Manchester Airports Group) owns and operates three UK airports; Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands, handling almost 60 million passengers per annum. The Group is a public-private partnership between Manchester City Council, the Associated Greater Manchester Association and IFM Investors, an Australian long-term infrastructure investment fund. MAG has experienced a high level of growth in the last five years since the acquisition of London Stansted Airport in 2013, and having established MAG USA in 2015 to pursue airport, lounge and car parking concession opportunities. The Group also has a strong property portfolio worth over BGN1.3bn, which is set to increase with the ongoing development of Airport City Manchester. Airport infrastructure is under development at Manchester and London Stansted – the Manchester Airport Transformation Programme will transform the airport with over BGN2.2bn investment, and London Stansted will benefit from a new arrivals building to accommodate growing passenger numbers (the highest growth rate in the UK). Both Manchester and London Stansted have direct links to Sofia with regular Ryanair and EasyJet services.
