The BBCC supported a letter by the Business Integrity Club at Transparency International urging for transparent and fair rules for the selection of nominations for the regulators with expired mandates.

The letter which was sent on February 5 to the chair of Bulgarian Parliament, as well as the chairs of relevant parliamentary committees, is a result of a discussion within the Business Integrity Club initiated by the British Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce.

Regulators play an important role for the development and stability of Bulgarian economy and their actions directly affect the business of many BBCC members. Therefore, transparent procedures, avoidance of conflicts of interest, and objective selection criteria are critical for the independent and efficient operation of the regulators.

BBCC, alongside with other members of the Business Integrity Club, follows the topic closely and will continue to issue statements and insist to participate in the public discussion.
