The TELUS Digital Bulgaria Community Board Foundation invites civil organizations – foundations, associations, community centers, and other non-profit legal entities – to apply with their projects focused on healthcare, education, or the environment.
The maximum funding per project is BGN 15,000. This year, The foundation of TELUS Digital Bulgaria is allocating a total of BGN 170,000 across two open calls to support projects that benefit local communities in the country. During its first meeting in June, the foundation’s jury approved five projects, providing a total of BGN 73,214.
In this current open call, nearly BGN 100,000 will be distributed to socially significant projects that stand out with their practical solutions. The application deadline is 23:59 on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. All details and application forms are available on the foundation’s website: www.communityboardbulgaria.org.
The jury of the Community Board, responsible for ranking projects for funding, has been renewed due to expired terms of service, with new members now appointed.
The new jury members are: Vesselina Yordanova, Director Donations Program at the BCause Foundation; Tanya Dimitrova, Director of the Center for Hearing Impaired Children “Yanika”; Georgi Nenov, Creator and host of the podcast “The Superman with Georgi Nenov”; and Kleoniki Georgiadou, Member of the Leadership Team at TELUS Tower – Sofia and a partner in many of the company’s socially significant causes. Among the new members of the jury are representatives of TELUS Digital Bulgaria – Kristina Georgieva, VP Operations and Nikolay Matanov, Global Operations Account Manager.
The Chairman of the Jury is Teodora Bakardzhieva, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Donors’ Forum. Other members include Kristina Ivanova, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TELUS Digital for Bulgaria and Co-founder and Vice President of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria; Henrietta Ilieva, Certified trainer and Consultant at the Reference Center for Psychosocial Support in Copenhagen and Member of the European Network for Social and Psychological Support in Disasters; Grigor Ivanov, a professional basketball player from the WBC Sofia-Balkan team since 2019; Desislava Danova, HR Strategic Initiatives & Talent Development Manager; and Yordanka Georgieva, Director Procurement and Internal Controls.
In 2024, the foundation of TELUS Digital Bulgaria celebrates its 10th anniversary, having funded 171 projects with over BGN 1.5 million. In 2021, it was awarded “Best Donation Program” at the Annual Awards of the Bulgarian Donors’ Forum.
