PwC’s 3rd SEE CFO Compass Survey Report, presenting insights from nearly 230 organisations across more than 15 industries in Southeast Europe, has been published.
The survey shows that modernisation across the region is accelerating, but trust isn’t keeping pace. CFOs are adopting new systems, AI and automation, yet many still struggle to trust the data, controls and teams behind them. This year’s report highlights why strengthening that foundation matters now more than ever.
Among the key findings:
- 54% of CFOs still operate with moderate-to-no-standardised accounting data within the group
- 34% load accounting data into spreadsheets that require manual adjustments
- 0% invest in Business Continuity Management / Disaster Recovery
- 61% are exploring or have already implemented AI agents
- Employees’ limited technical skills remain the biggest barrier to unlocking AI value
The results of the 3rd CFO Compass Survey for Southeast Europe were presented exclusively in Sofia. The event attracted leading finance executives and industry experts, who actively participated in the discussion on the future of finance functions in the region.
