A contest on the topic “Challenges and opportunities for corporate income taxation in Bulgaria” is being organized by the Faculty of Economics of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and the platform @-GORA, with the support of master’s programs “Economics and Management of Public Resources”, “Customs and Tax Control” and “Accounting and Audit”.

The competition is held in partnership with the law firm “Tabakov, Tabakova & Partners” and “Chronika” OOD – a company providing accounting and tax services.

The competition is open to:

  • All students studying in the professional fields of Economics and Law from all universities and colleges in Bulgaria and abroad, regardless of the degree and form of study;
  • Young professionals up to 30 years old, with knowledge and interests in the field of tax law and tax consulting.

The purpose of the contest is to give students and recently graduated young professionals up to 30 years of age with interests in tax law and consulting the opportunity to show their potential and create contacts with leading professionals from the sector.

Application deadline: The contest is open for applications from 15.10 to 30.11.2024.

The following prizes will be awarded:

1st prize: BGN 500.
2nd prize: BGN 300.
3rd prize: BGN 200.

Contest partners will also provide additional prizes for participants of their choice:

  • Professional literature in the field of tax law, provided by the Tabakov, Tabakova & Partners law firm
  • Paid internship provided by “Chronika” OOD – a company providing accounting and tax services.

To participate you must prepare and submit through your profile (as an attachment) an essay on the given topic. If you are not registered on the platform, first create a profile (a-gora.com).

The authors of the best essays will be invited to present them to a jury, which, based on the author’s presentation, will determine the winner and awardees of the competition.

The presentation and awarding of the winners will take place in January 2025, during an official event to which all participants in the competition are invited to attend.
