“Challenge with a cause” is a 15-day sports challenge that combines movement, team spirit and the support for education. This year’s challenge is special as Teach for Bulgaria will celebrate their 15th anniversary!
When: September 13-27, 2025
What: Each participant commits to walking 150,000 steps over 15 days
Goal: To raise funds in support of the foundation’s mission for ensuring equal access to quality education for every child in Bulgaria
All raised funds will be doubled by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), so your donations will have twice the impact!
The challenge is open to a wider range of employees, even those who do not practice a specific sport. Each participant and team will track their progress through the Big Team Challenge app, receive additional challenges and have the opportunity to win prizes for the most activity.
The campaign is designed for socially responsible companies that are looking for inspiring ways to:
- motivate their employees to move more
- build team spirit around a socially significant cause
- show that success goes hand in hand with compassion
In addition to encouraging physical activity, this initiative fosters social contribution and individual giving among employees. There is no fixed entry fee for the challenge; participants can donate an amount of their choice and the company can encourage them by matching their donations, committing to a corporate donation upon reaching a set number of steps, or using other suitable methods.
Participation is open to teams across the country, and each company receives:
- a dedicated donation page
- a guide on “How to Inspire People to Donate” for each participant
- an invitation to a live starting event in Sofia and an online finale
- awards for the most active participants
The kickoff (Sept 13) will be filled with energy and movement!
