We are thrilled to announce the return of the British Charity Quiz in its special Christmas Edition! Join The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award—Bulgaria (The Award), in partnership with the British Bulgarian Business Association (BBBA) and the British Embassy in Sofia, for this special event celebrating a meaningful cause and marking the Award’s 10th anniversary in Bulgaria. Continuing a well-loved tradition, the new UK Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Nathaniel Copsey, will graciously welcome us to the British Residence in Sofia.

Funds raised will support the Award’s campaign to combat youth substance abuse by actively engaging young people in its programme.

About the Charity
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Bulgaria licenses, trains and supports schools across the country that help their students channel creative energy into structured activities. The programme challenges young people aged 14-24 to volunteer, develop personal skills, explore nature and be physically active. It positively impacts their lives, improving their goal-setting and leadership skills, promoting resilience, creativity and self-esteem, and changing their overall attitude towards life.
This year, The Great British Charity Quiz returns to address an urgent challenge: the rise of youth substance misuse in Bulgaria, which affects individuals, families, and communities nationwide. Now in its fourth year, this beloved tradition will raise essential funds to support a campaign by The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Bulgaria (The Award). Through this initiative, at-risk young people will be offered a constructive path forward, channelling their energy into positive, enriching activities that build resilience and foster personal growth, helping them resist the pressures of substance misuse. As part of the programme, participants will uncover their potential, build self-confidence, and make healthier life choices. By creating opportunities for growth and meaningful engagement, this initiative aims to inspire young people to take charge of their lives and positively impact their communities. As Kurt Hahn, one of the Award’s founders, wisely remarked, “There is more in you than you think.”
