About the Charity

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Bulgaria licenses, trains and supports schools across the country that help their students channel creative energy into structured activities. The programme challenges young people aged 14-24 to volunteer, develop personal skills, explore nature and be physically active. It has a positive impact on their lives, improving their goal setting and leadership skills, promoting resilience, creativity and self-esteem, and changing their overall attitude towards life.

The past challenging year has shown that more and more students from different regions of the country are interested in discovering their infinite potential and being world ready, but do not have a licensed school or organization near them. The Foundation in Bulgaria will use the funds raised within the scope of the campaign to create a virtual platform of the Award, which will give access to the programme to every young person in Bulgaria.

The 21st century world needs innovation in education, but ecology, volunteering, physical activity and personal development will remain timeless and vital to building a healthy society.
