Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancerous diagnosis among women in Bulgaria, and three new cases of the disease are diagnosed every day in the country. Most of them are women between the ages of 30 and 44.

The webinar, organized together by Swedish medical laboratories Synevo, the National Patients’ Organization (NPO) and the National Association for Cervical Cancer Prevention, will discuss new methods for diagnosing the disease, as well as its prevention and treatment.

In honor of Kalina Tsoneva, MD, our friend, partner, lecturer and one of the best obstetrician-gynecologists in Bulgaria, who deceased on November 26, the webinar originally announced for November 27 (Saturday), was postponed and will be held on December 5 (Sunday). It will start at 11:00 a.m. and will be broadcast on the Facebook page of the National Patients’ Organization and on the event page.

Tsvetelina Velikova, MD, clinical immunologist and Medical Director of Swedish medical laboratories Synevo Bulgaria – Tsvetelina Velikova graduated in medicine at the Medical University in Sofia in 2010.
 She defended her dissertation in the field of gastrointestinal immunology in 2014. Since 2016 she is a specialist in clinical immunology.

Tsvetelina Velikova currently works at Lozenets University Hospital and is an assistant at the Medical Faculty of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. She is a member of several scientific and professional organizations in Bulgaria and abroad. She has over 100 scientific publications, as well as participation in over 15 scientific projects. She is also a reviewer and member of the editorial board of several journals.

Maintains a page, group and blog dedicated to immunology.

Ivan Vetsev, MD, obstetrician-gynecologist – Graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in 2010, and acquired his specialty in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2016.

Ivan Vetsev performs examinations and modern treatment of obstetric and gynecological diseases, all types of tests and procedures, pregnancy monitoring, colposcopy and more. His research interests are focused on early diagnosis, prevention and management of high-risk pregnancies.

In addition, Ivan Vetsev has participated in the design and implementation of a number of health campaigns and projects aimed at socially significant diseases and health issues.
